This one is a big deal for us. We're kicking off a full metal roofing upgrade at Timber Bay Camp and Retreat - covering multiple cabins and the main lodge with 24-gauge mechanically seamed panels. It's the kind of job that takes real planning and a solid crew to pull off right.
The existing asphalt roofs have run their course. That's pretty common on properties like this - camps and retreats put a lot of wear on a building, and asphalt only holds up for so long before you're patching it every season. At some point, the math just doesn't work anymore.
That's where mechanically seamed metal comes in. This isn't your standard standing seam - it's a step up. The panels are mechanically locked together, which creates a tighter, more weather-resistant seam than panels that are just snapped into place. On a property that sees heavy rain, snow load, and year-round use, that difference matters.
24-gauge steel gives you the thickness to handle real-world conditions without being overkill for the application. On a wooded lakeside property like this, you want something that holds up to falling branches, ice buildup, and whatever the seasons throw at it - without needing constant attention. That's exactly what this system delivers.
We're just getting started on this one, but we're looking forward to seeing it come together. Multi-structure jobs like this are where our crew really hits its stride. More updates to come as the work progresses.
