This one was a fun build. A garage and greenhouse combo that needed an exterior that could handle real weather, look sharp, and not require constant upkeep. That's exactly the kind of job where steel shines.
We wrapped the entire structure in EDCO steel siding in a deep slate blue. The horizontal lap profile runs clean and consistent across the walls, and the color has that bold, modern feel that works really well against the natural wooded setting. Steel siding doesn't crack, warp, or rot - and it won't need repainting every few years like wood or fiber cement.
For the roof, we went with EDCO Arrowline metal shingle shake in copper. It's a product we really like because it gives you that textured, dimensional shingle look without any of the maintenance headaches. Metal shingles hold up against ice, wind, and heavy snow loads in a way that asphalt just can't compete with long-term.
What ties this whole build together is how the two products complement each other. The deep blue siding paired with the warm copper shingles gives the structure real character. It doesn't look like a utility building - it looks intentional. That's what good material selection does.
Steel siding and metal roofing aren't just a durability upgrade. They're a long-term investment in a structure that holds its value and its appearance over time. Builds like this one are a good example of what's possible when you go with quality materials and take the installation seriously.
